Appointments with the Neurology Service are made by referral through the client's primary care veterinarian.
Neurology services
- Neurological examination
- A neurological examination allows a veterinarian to determine where a problem is located in the nervous system.
- Brain and spinal imaging, including computed tomography (CT Scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear scintigraphy, ultrasound, digital radiographs, and myelography
- Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collection and fluid analysis
- CSF analysis allows clinicians us to look at cell populations that may indicate inflammation, cancer, or infection of the nervous system.
- Neurosurgery
- We perform a variety of surgical procedures, including disc surgery (hemilaminectomy, ventral slot), brain surgery, and spinal fusion/stabilization.
- Our neurologists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of brain cancers and the performance of stereotactic neurosurgical procedures.
- Management of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
- Hearing tests (BAER)
- Electrophysiological evaluations of muscle and nervous tissue (EMG, EEG, Evoked Potentials)
- Nerve and muscle biopsies
- Ongoing clinical trials
