Appointments with the Neurology Service are made by referral through the client's primary care veterinarian.

Neurology services

  • Neurological examination
    • A neurological examination allows a veterinarian to determine where a problem is located in the nervous system.
  • Brain and spinal imaging, including computed tomography (CT Scan), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), nuclear scintigraphy, ultrasound, digital radiographs, and myelography
  • Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) collection and fluid analysis
    • CSF analysis allows clinicians us to look at cell populations that may indicate inflammation, cancer, or infection of the nervous system.
  • Neurosurgery
    • We perform a variety of surgical procedures, including disc surgery (hemilaminectomy, ventral slot), brain surgery, and spinal fusion/stabilization.
    • Our neurologists are experts in the diagnosis and treatment of brain cancers and the performance of stereotactic neurosurgical procedures.
  • Management of traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
  • Hearing tests (BAER)
  • Electrophysiological evaluations of muscle and nervous tissue (EMG, EEG, Evoked Potentials)
  • Nerve and muscle biopsies
  • Ongoing clinical trials
