Clinical Track Assistant or Associate Professor of Ophthalmology

The Ophthalmology Service provides diagnostic and therapeutic care for all species of animals. Patients are seen on a referral basis.

Ophthalmology services

In addition to standard diagnostics, we also provide the following:

  • Routine examinations including slit-lamp biomicroscopy, direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy, tonometry, gonioscopy, and cytology
  • Ocular ultrasonography and ultrasound biomicroscopy
  • Electroretinography
  • RetinaScan
  • Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) certifications

We offer standard care, as well as a variety of more-advanced medical and surgical treatment options:

  • Corrective surgery for genetic eyelid disorders
  • Reconstructive surgery for ocular and adnexal injuries/neoplasia
  • Surgery for small animal and equine infectious corneal disease
  • Laser and shunt surgery for glaucoma and tumors
  • Cataract surgery
  • Cryosurgery
  • Photodynamic therapy
