Sports Medicine and Imaging

The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine provides sports medicine and imaging  services to equine patients in our hospital and on the farm through our Equine Field Service. If you have questions about our services, please contact us at 540-231-4621 for in-hospital or on-farm treatment.

We provide specialized care for the diagnosis and treatment of equine lameness and poor performance either in-hospital or on-farm within our service area. 

Our team of specialists includes board-certified surgeons and sports medicine veterinarians, as well as veterinarians with advanced training in equine chiropractic and acupuncture techniques. Our veterinarians are involved in the advancement of sports medicine through research in regenerative medicine products and state-of-the-art rehabilitation treatments.

The Large Animal Hospital provides access to specialized diagnostic imaging modalities, such as MRI, CT, and referral ultrasound, while our Equine Field Service team provides access to digital radiography and ultrasound on-farm.
